Meet Monica Wilson
Candidate for Parma City Council Ward 1
Endorsed by US Senator Sherrod Brown
Friends, we did not get the outcome we wanted or expected as I did not get a majority of the votes needed to win. However, this has been an experience of a lifetime due in part from your support. I’m not sure what the future holds, but I do know that in the present we have a lot of work to do to hold up our democracy to ensure our country stays intact. We can only do that by allowing each and every human being on this land to fully participate in the process of living. Every human being must have food, water, clothing, shelter, air, healthcare, dignity and respect. To get to a more perfect union, we must elect officials who will carry out this vision to ensure the safety of Americans. Whatever you do, vote and vote for those who care – care about humanity. Peace be with you. Monica
Building for the Future
As a Parma resident for over 30 years, I know the value of this city council position and the creation of meaningful policy and public engagement that applies to the vast diversity of its residents. Our unique perspectives, experiences and ideas when harnessed collectively, create opportunity for an inclusive and productive society.
Growing up in a working class, union, Democratic household has prepared me for this opportunity to address those of us that face adversity with personal struggles, that include food, utility and housing concerns. With the values instilled by my mother and father including their guidance and support, I persevered. It is this experience that I know has prepared me to assist my fellow Parma residents.
Upon moving to Ohio, I utilized my BS and MS Chemical Engineering degrees in the Paints and Coatings industry, being ultimately promoted to Global Polymer Technology Manager, a position that required an advanced level of expertise and the proficiency to work across languages and cultures to successfully manage global multimillion-dollar projects. This corporate experience and aptitude to work with people from all backgrounds, positions me as a qualified candidate to make the right decisions for our citizens. I listen and act to resolve problems and implement solutions that will address the issues for everyone’s benefits, especially our most vulnerable citizens.
My personal motto is that there is nothing more important on earth than a human being. All people must be at the table to create a better community. I’m responsive, I care and I want to be the voice of Ward 1, Parma, Ohio.
